 Differences between ALBENDAZOLE and MEBENDAZOLE (Worms medications)


 In this article we analyze the differences between the two types of deworming drugs;


 1. ALBENDAZOLE


 - This is a worm medicine that effectively treats TAPEWORMS worm infections, neurocysticercosis, giardiasis, trichuriasis n.k



 - Minor side effects that can occur in some people after taking these medications include;  feeling nausea, abdominal pain and headache



 - ALBENDAZOLE works very well against Tapeworms or Flatworms, Nematodes, Giardiasis, Microsporidiosis, granulomatous, amoebic encephalitis, Arthropods, etc.



 - These drugs are not safe for PREGNANT MOTHERS especially in the first trimester of pregnancy( FIRST TRIMESTER) as they can cause harm in the creation of the baby i.e Teratogenic effects

 2. MEBENDAZOLE

 - These drugs are safe for PREGNANT MOTHERS, so they can be used by the mother during pregnancy



 - Minor side effects that can be experienced by some people after taking these drugs include;  Getting abdominal pain



 - These drugs are safe for children from 2 years



 - These drugs are not very safe for older people or the elderly as well as children from 6 months to 2 years
