GLAUCOMA, is a disease that cause a raising of blood pressure in the Eyes to a level above 10mmhg to 21mmhg.  If this happens we say, you have Eye pressure which is known as Glaucoma.

 CAUSES OF EYE PRESSURE OR GLAUCOMA

 - Eye pressure occurs when the fluid in the eye known as Aquous homor exceeds its normal level

 There are a number of factors that contribute to a person getting eye pressure, which include;

 - Genetic inheritance of this problem in a particular Family.  The presence of a person with Eye pressure(Glaucoma) in a particular family, puts those relatives at risk of getting the problem for those who do not.

 - Having other eye diseases can put a person at risk for eye pressure as well

 - Getting eye injuries due to various reasons like falls, accidents n.k.

 - Being older For example 50 years and older, can contribute to a person getting high blood pressure in the Eyes

-  Having other diseases like diabetes

 - Use of certain medications such as Predinisolone etc

 WHAT ARE THE SYMPTOMS OF EYE PRESSURE?

 - The patient's blurred vision is a problem that often begins with one eye and then both eyes

 - Getting trouble on Seeing accompanied with the eyes seeing the fog or Cloudy ahead

 - The eyes begin to shed tears, while for others it is accompanied by severe headaches

-  Eye color changes to yellow in the middle black of the eye

 - And for some patients the eyes become red around the eye

 EYE PRESSURE TREATMENT

 So far, there is no cure for eye high blood pressure or Glaucoma.

 In this way the patient will be given an anti-hypertensive medication, and if the condition worsens, he will undergo surgery that involves drilling a small hole in the eye to allow the excess fluid in the eye to diminish.
